EXPANDING STEM EDUCATION.
Broncology is a youth-led international non-profit organization cultivating learning in STEM for people of all ages. We provide a global audience with a digestible multilingual magazine, credible online information, and a lifestyle blog. We are also working towards developing higher levels of language literacy and mitigating book deserts through our reading programs. Through various channels, Broncology strives to help simplify scientific information and make STEM education accessible for everyone.
OUR STORY.
Abigail founded Broncology at 14 on the determination to demonstrate to her friends that science could be interesting although science class was not.
When Abigail was younger, she was not engaged in science class either despite loving to read about science. Although she eventually grew to enjoy STEM-based classes at school when content grew, most of her friends did not. From helping friends study to sharing news about science, Abigail sought to show her classmates that there is curiosity and fun in STEM.
Though Abigail continued to use her outgoing personality to inspire her classmates not to eliminate science from their considerations about their future, Abigail hoped to create impact more tangibly.
Hoping to bring a more relatable and entertaining aspect to the academic subjects related to STEM, Abigail officially founded Broncology as a school club in September of 2021 after planning since July of 2021. She sought to foster a community where learning did not feel like a job, but an excitement. Broncology started very small, with a couple of members from a small school in New Taipei city, but gradually grew to encompass an international audience and volunteer community.
Today, being part of the largest youth-led non-profit dedicated to education in Taiwan, Broncology’s founder and volunteers all around the world dedicate their work to expanding STEM education through means that resonate with their global audience.
OUR TEAM
Founder & Executive Director
Abigail W.
Abigail is a 18-year old high schooler with passions lying at the intersection of STEM and education. In addition to Abigail’s passions for cultivating curiosity in STEM and expand STEM education to the different corners of communities, she is an avid leader, musician, and a teenager taking life as it comes. She enjoys working with teams, playing the cello, reading leadership newsletter, traveling with family, and catching up on the latest news. She aspires to be a physician scientist dedicated to serving patients and mentoring younger leaders in healthcare at teaching hospitals. Abigail hopes that Broncology’s programs can one day be implemented in areas where education is left rather unexposed and unfamiliar, from hospital wards to underprivileged communities, establishing a reputation of bringing education to all corners of the world for learners of all ages. Abigail hopes to continue bringing volunteers, no matter how young, to join in Broncology’s mission to expand STEM education and simplify science, one word at a time.
